Chill out.
With the Speaking Tests going on and the Overview tomorrow, I know it is easier said than done. Some of you probably don’t even remember what the word ‘chill’ even means at this point, as the only things you really think of are trills and clicks. Perhaps it is the formal and literal Google definition that rather comes to your mind: chill - an unpleasant feeling of coldness in the atmosphere, one's surroundings, or the body. No wonder, I think of that too when I look back at the last block. Fortunately for you, we are here to remind you what it really means to chill, with a little help of our favourite linguistic tool - Urban Dictionary.

I am being very humorous around here, but don’t get fooled by my comedic writing. Advice for you all during these stressful days is to maybe take it down a notch. Studies have shown that cramming and lack of sleep are the worst things you can do to yourself during revision. Do whatever you’re able to do and try to portion it out. The key is to take regular and short breaks, take care of yourself and definitely not to pull an all-nighter. You can find below a little chart that might be helpful with that.
Also, treat yourself. Have a piece of cake, a cup of tea, listen to some music. It’s going to be okay. Resits are on the 1st of February, on the same day as resits in Phonetics. fʌn.
Good luck,
