To all fellow students and members of the University of Amsterdam,
The UvA’s very own Cecilia Odé recently passed away and we at KAT-Blad wanted to use this platform to appreciate the wonderful work she did and research she carried out.
Dr. Odé, who began her education at the UvA specialising in Slavic Languages, was involved in the teaching of living languages and linguistic research, more specifically languages in the Russian region and language preservation. She took part in the creation of “Voices from the Tundra”, a documentary about the preservation of Tundra Yukagir and many more publications pertaining to it and its culture.
